Diabetic neuropathy in the cat
Dreamsicle (foster cat) returned by former adopter when he developed Diabetes Mellitus. You can see he is down on his hocks, with diabetic neuropathy (a condition caused by poorly regulated diabetes). I practiced a protocol called “tight regulation” with a low-carb canned diet and PZI (insulin), and his neuropathy improved (and he actually stopped being diabetic).
Dreamy also stars in another video of mine, illustrating how I test his blood sugar.

Thanks for the …
Thanks for the reply, no the vet didnt do any blood tests urine tests or x-rays she was saying it could be a slipped disk, it could be a tumor it could be a clot on the spine, the worst part was she said have I thought about putting him down and I said no it’s not going to happen till I know for sure what it is, she couldnt feel any lumps on his back and like I say he is not in any pain and to look at him you would think there is nothing wrong, he’s a Norwegian Forest Cat and a loved one.
A simple urine test …
A simple urine test will show if your cat has glucose in the urine (is likely diabetic). Has your vet performed blood and urine tests? x-rays? That is what I would have done if I wanted to try to find out more about my cat’s condition.
Best of luck!

The key is getting blood sugar levels down. Are you home-testing his blood sugar levels? If not, please consider it.
I practice “tight regulation” so I use only wet food (canned or raw) and get BGs to as close to normal as I can with insulin. Neuropathy seems to be caused by a water-soluble vitamin deficiency due to the high blood sugar levels. As you can see, it *is* reversable, but blood sugar levels need to improve for that to take place.
