		<description>&lt;b&gt;Thanks for the ...&lt;/b&gt; &lt;br&gt; Thanks for the reply, no the vet didnt do any blood tests urine tests or x-rays she was saying it could be a slipped disk, it could be a tumor it could be a clot on the spine, the worst part was she said have I thought about putting him down and I said no it&#039;s not going to happen till I know for sure what it is, she couldnt feel any lumps on his back and like I say he is not in any pain and to look at him you would think there is nothing wrong, he&#039;s a Norwegian Forest Cat and a loved one.</description>

		<description>&lt;b&gt;A simple urine test ...&lt;/b&gt; &lt;br&gt; A simple urine test will show if your cat has glucose in the urine (is likely diabetic).  Has your vet performed blood and urine tests?  x-rays?  That is what I would have done if I wanted to try to find out more about my cat&#039;s condition.

		<description>&lt;b&gt;I dont know if you ...&lt;/b&gt; &lt;br&gt; I dont know if you can give me some advice, my cat is not crying in any pain my vet thinks it could e a slipped disk but I dont think so, he is dragging his back legs behind him but has since got a bit better but not by much, I dont want to out him to sleep till I know what it could be, I want to give him a fighting chance, he is eating fine going to the litter tray fine but he is drinking a lot of water every day and he is not dehydrated, he likes stuff like icecream could he be diabetic? Help.</description>

The key is getting blood sugar levels down.  Are you home-testing his blood sugar levels?  If not, please consider it.

I practice &quot;tight regulation&quot; so I use only wet food (canned or raw) and get BGs to as close to normal as I can with insulin.  Neuropathy seems to be caused by a water-soluble vitamin deficiency due to the high blood sugar levels.  As you can see, it *is* reversable, but blood sugar levels need to improve for that to take place.</description>
