Can type 2 diabetes cause morning nose bleeds? If so what can we do ?

My husband is 68 yrs. old, and was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in 2001 and has NEVER had a nose bleed until a few days ago. It doesn’t bleed excessively. Maybe for a few minutes then it stops. We called his Dr., but they have to check it out first. So I was wondering if someone could give me some Professional info on what is causing these nose bleeds and what we could do in the mean time. He has to see his Dr. March 5. THANK YOU. We really would appreciate your help.

The most common causes of nosebleeds are: dry air in your house which can be cured by use of a humidifier in the bedroom where you sleep; high blood pressure; and taking blood thinners and your blood is now too thin according to your protime (blood test). Placing a little bacitracin into the nostril where the bleeding has occurred helps to keep the area moist.

Nose bleeds are not related to diabetes. Could be the dry heat in your house.

My son had been having nosebleeds too. The doc said to get a humidifier and that has nothing to do with diabetes. My son was newly diagnosed and has had 2 really bad nose bleeds within the last week. Doc said it was just the dry air.
