my daughter is pregnant she has 2 possible men her blood type is ab+ one man is b+ can these 2 types cause rh-?
she just got a call from her dr and they said she had to come in for a shot because her blood type is ab+ and she has rh- i think it is – but i was wondering if the one mans blood beieng b+ could cause this
she’d only have to get the shot if her blood type was negative.
If she is +, the father of the baby is -.

If she is AB+ then her RH is positive not negative. She should only need the shot if SHE is RH negative. It dosn’t matter what the fathers blood type is, only the mothers. Now a days they give the shot to all the women who have negative blood. They don’t even test the fathers anymore.

I am A- and i have to get rhogam shot’s at 28 weeks. The only reason they would give her the rhogam shot at 28 weeks is if she is rh-, so if that is the case her blood type cant be ab+. It doesnt matter what the father is is the mother has a positive rh factor if the mother has a negative rh factor and the father does not then she will have to get a shot.

ab+ does not require a shot, ab- would. That – after the letters is what tells you her RH status. She would need to be – and the father + to create an issue. Since they can never be 100% sure that the babies father is actually the father, they only have the mothers word on it, they give the rhogam shot to anyone that is Rh -.

It could cause rh-, but as long as your daughter receives the correct medical treatment, she should be fine. She should probably find out which of the two men is the real father.

Rh- is only caused with a negaitive blood type for the mama and if the baby’s blood type is positive. If she is negative then she will get a few Rhogam shots during her pregnancy and one after she delivers baby if the babyis positive. It helps the antibodies in future pregnancies. She shouldn’t have anything to worry about since she is a positive blood type.
